Food for Thought, an HIV/AIDS food bank in Sonoma County, California, has had its federal funding under the Ryan White Health Care Act cut to zero, the Sonoma West Times & News reports. As a result of changes in the way Ryan White money is distributed, Sonoma County no longer has enough patients to qualify for the Ryan White “Part A” funds that are used to buy food for patients.

The Ryan White money—$140,000 in 2008—comprised 6 percent of Food for Thought’s budget. No similar source of funding is forthcoming.
