NYC Launches Free Condom Finder Phone App

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has launched a free smart phone application designed to find the five nearest venues distributing free condoms, according to a statement by the health department. Users can manually type in their current location or they can allow GPS to discern their location; then, based on that info, the app will find the nearest free prophylactics and give directions (walking, driving or public transportation), the hours of operation and the types of safer-sex products available at the venues. The app also includes tips about safer-sex practices.
