Cleveland Clinic Gets $3M Grant for HIV Research
The Cleveland Clinic has received a $3 million grant from the Richard J. Fasenmyer Foundation to study HIV and the body’s response in autoimmune diseases, according to a Cleveland Clinic statement. Researchers will study three areas: well-treated HIV patients who don’t achieve a restored immune system; individuals at high risk for HIV who have not contracted the virus; and the immune system response to drugs that reduce symptoms but don’t cure inflammatory conditions such as Crohn’s disease.
