Chloe Dzubilo, an HIV/AIDS and transgender activist, died February 18 in New York City. She was 51 years old. Dzubilo founded Equi-Aids, a charity that puts inner-city kids on horseback. She also served on New York City’s HIV Planning Council. Dzubilo was on the cover of POZ in August 2004. In the cover story, she discussed the difficulties many transgender people experience in receiving quality heath care.

UPDATE: A memorial will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, at Judson Memorial Church on Washington Square Park in New York City.
