A Canadian teenage girl has been denied bail after being arrested for allegedly having unprotected sex without telling two male partners about her HIV-positive status, United Press International (UPI) reports. A third man came forward after her photo was published, although the current HIV status of all three men has not been reported. The 17-year-old girl is being charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault because she allegedly did not disclose her HIV status prior to sexual contact. She was arrested hitchhiking out of the city of Edmonton after police published her name and photograph, using a court order to overcome her status as a minor, which would normally protect her identity. Since her arrest, the media reports that leaked the girl’s identity and HIV status have been removed from the Internet.
