Four regional HIV/AIDS organizations in Colorado have merged to form one statewide organization, The Denver Post reports. The Colorado AIDS Project in Denver is merging with the Northern Colorado AIDS Project, the Southern Colorado AIDS Project and the Western Colorado AIDS Project. The new entity will retain the name Colorado AIDS Project. The Boulder County AIDS Project chose not to merge. The organizations hope the merger will increase their presence on the national stage and influence both lawmakers and funders. Regional offices will remain open with original staffing.
