Tech Sergeant David Gutierrez, an HIV-positive airman atMcConnell Air Force Base in Kansas, was found guilty and sentenced to eightyears in military prison, The Associated Press (AP) reports. Gutierrez wasaccused of having unprotected sex with multiple partners without telling themhe was HIV positive. A court martial convicted him on seven counts ofaggravated assault and violating his commander’s order to notify sexual partnersabout his HIV status and to use condoms. Gutierrez was also convicted ofindecent acts for having sex in front of others and eight counts of adultery. Heoriginally faced 53 years in prison.To read the AP article, click here.
