Bill Clinton Tackles Pricing on Second-Line Meds
July 14, 2006—Former President Bill Clinton announced plans this week to negotiate lower prices in developing countries for second-line HIV drugs. Such treatments are for positive people with resistance to the sort of first-line drugs that the former president helped cut prices on earlier this year. Clinton also joined Microsoft Chair Bill Gates on a tour of Lesotho this week to assess HIV-fighting efforts in the Southern African country.
