LIFEBeat Concert Cancelled

July 13, 2006—LIFEBeat, a music industry AIDS group, cancelled a July 18 benefit concert in New York City due to protests against two reggae performers, Beenie Man and TOK, whose lyrics are violently homophobic. Performances featuring the two have been cancelled due to similar protests in the past, and many AIDS advocates are asking why the organization booked them to start with.
