July 11, 2006—Bloggers and activists are demanding that anti-gay reggae performers Beenie Man and TOK be banned from performing at a New York City concert to help raise HIV awareness among people of Caribbean decent. The protesters say the singers’ lyrics promote violence against gays in the Caribbean, including the recent murders of Jamaican activists Brian Williamson and Steve Harvey.
