The standard contract for cast members on MTV’s reality show The Real World provides explicit references to HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), according to The Village Voice’s blog. Real World applicants must affirm that they don’t have any STIs and that MTV is not responsible if participants acquire any STIs during the course of filming the show from either “consensual or non-consensual physical contact.” The contract includes a laundry list of STIs to which this waiver applies, including HIV/AIDS, herpes and hepatitis.
