HIV Meets the Real World

An Indian reality television show has won a World Award at the 2007 Asia Media Summit for the “Best TV program to reduce discrimination against people living with HIV.” BBC World Service Trust’s “Haath se Haath Milaa” (Let’s Join Hands), which features well known celebrities like actress Shilpa Shetty and challenges stigma surrounding HIV, beat out 45 other television programs in the category.
