Detroit Shelter Closes its Doors

A transitional housing program for people living with HIV/AIDS in Detroit is closing its doors this week after losing federal funding. Helping Hands, which has received $100,000 from Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) each year for the past three years, provided shelter for 11 people.
