The Sex Work Factor
HIV rates among sex workers are more closely tied to a community’s overall HIV rates than the number of men who have been circumcised, according to a new study in PloS One. The report follows findings in Africa that circumcision can reduce HIV transmission by up to 60% in certain populations. UNAIDS and other organizations are recommending implementing the practice more widely.
