Look Out, Indian AIDS Quacks
A group of Indians living with HIV has launched a campaign against so-called AIDS healers who offer to “cure” people with HIV for a fee. Costly health care and HIV stigma often compel positive people to visit underground clinics that use phony herbal treatments; the Indian Network of People Living With HIV and AIDS received more than 100 reports of such scams in April alone.
