Gates in China

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has a brand new Beijing office, its first in China, and the focus is on HIV and AIDS. The program’s head, Dr. Ray Yip, the former head of the Chinese branch of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, will confront a fragmented health system and likely face government resistance to the idea of collaborating on local programs.
