A Hawaiian Haven

On the eve of Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day tomorrow, Hawaiian newspaper The Garden Island profiles a local group tackling HIV stigma and raising awareness on the Hawaiian island of Kaua’i. Malama Pono, which is the Hawaiian translation for “taking care righteously,” was started 21 years ago and provides confidential testing and support services for people living with HIV.
