Caribbean MSMs Think HIV Is Inevitable
Many men who have sex with men in the Caribbean believe that getting infected with HIV is an inevitable product of their sexual orientation, causing them to disregard safe sex and testing messages, according to Trinidad and Tobago’s Newsday. Gay men who already experience discrimination in many parts of the region—from job loss to eviction from their homes to harassment—if they come out about their sexual orientation are afraid of “double discrimination” should others find out they are HIV positive.
