An All-Natural HIV Prevention Discovery
Cells along the mucosal linings of human genitalia produce a protein that destroys HIV before it enters the bloodstream, possibly reducing the chances of sexual transmission, according to a report in Nature Medicine. Scientists hope that the protein could be used to improve new HIV prevention methods, such as vaginal microbicides.
