I would like to know how much the sperm washing procedure cost. If it's not possible to state the exact figure an estimate amount will do just fine.
I am happy for you.
God Bless to the both of you. That takes courage and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. I Hope one day I can do that too. I love to hear happy news. Congratulations !!!
Grant - You are not understanding. They call it "sperm washing" but it is the seminal fluid that is being "washed" not the sperm.
Sperm does not have HIV. Why does it have to be washed? HIV does not live in the egg, the sperm or the placenta. HIV + couples have HIV negative children. HIV only lives in the semem, artificially seminated eggs do not have HIV. HIV dies when exposed to the air. This is a money making scam. I find it horrifying that people are making money on such a non existent problem. I'm surpised that Poz.com has posted this as a relevant article. I do love your work, this time you missed the mark.G
Grant - You may not have noticed, but the article explains, "Sperm washing is a process in which the sperm are separated from the seminal fluid, which might contain HIV-infected material; the sperm is then later inseminated into the womb."
I'm confused. I thought that the egg and the sperm were HIV free; I also believe the fetus and amniotic sac to be HIV free too. I know that 2 HIV+ people have a HIV negative baby, so ... Why, oh why, would sperm need washing? This is a total money grab and a scam based on fear. I'm really disappointed that Poz.com has actually promoted this sort of ignorance.
