Antiretrovirals damage mitochondria, which causes neuron degeneration and death. The way to "fight back" is tell your AIDS doctors to go swallow that deadly crap themselves.
piracetam with alpha gpc seems to help a lot, there are other nootropics that can help as well, its just many doctors don't prescribe then as they do not require a prescription.
in regards to the software programs that aid in cognitive retraining - the correct web address for Lumosity is - www.lumosity.com luminosity.com is incorrect. regarding lumosity.com - i highly recommend it for computer users. originally developed to help those living with Alzheimer's delay progression, it is now seen as a good tool for anyone wanting to tune-up their mind. i am a regular user and it definitely helps me. and you do not have to pay for it. you can use it for free.

Yes, aging with HIV needs to be studied further. But, the trouble with this kind of article is that it generalizes HIVers as being in fragile condition without sufficiently emphasizing that this describes only a subset of the HIV population. I'm in my 50s, and even after over 20 years with HIV I scored 99% on the GREs, became proficient in multiple foreign languages, completed a doctorate, published articles, and regularly go mountain climbing. Cognitive decline and premature aging?

I have noticed I have been showing some symptoms and they are progressively getting worse. I was told that Folic Acid could help slow the progression. If anyone can help I would be greatly appreciative.
