May 7 is World AIDS Orphans Day, a grassroots campaign designed to create awareness and promote advocacy for the more than 15 million children worldwide orphaned by AIDS.
FBX International, an organization supporting orphans and vulnerable children, founded the day in 2002.
This year, FBX is rallying to ensure 10 percent of HIV/AIDS funding supports orphans and vulnerable children everywhere.
Since the inception of World AIDS Orphans Day, almost 800 government officials in more than 40 countries signed pledges advocating to address the orphan crisis. Thousands of individuals participate in the day’s events each year.
